North Korea tour guide, ultra-runner, polyglot, content creator, and average British girl on a mission to travel around every country in the world (and prove as many people wrong as possible whilst doing so).

Born and raised in Liverpool, UK, I’ve spent the last 15 years travelling all over the world and living in several different countries – with a love for the more unusual destinations. Wanting to challenge my own preconceptions of a country I only knew from the media, I travelled to North Korea in 2016.
What I found there was something far removed from the black and white narrative you’ll find in the media.
A lifechanging experience, as I then started a career in North Korea tourism, as well as continuing to challenge my preconceptions with other countries, and publishing it all on various social media channels, blogs, and interviews. It has even lead me to pursuing further education surrounding media framing and international relations, and I’m currently working on my PhD in Political Economy.

What we see and hear, subconsciously or consciously, has the ability to affect our thoughts, and our opinions.
The media controls what we see, how often we see it, and how we should feel about it.
The result? A population with strong opinions on places they’ve never even visited.
